Hello, my lovelies!
First, a question: I’m considering being a vendor at StoryCon in Salt Lake City in February, but I know very little about it. If you’ve been before, or if you would consider coming to see me if I was selling there, will you drop a comment and let me know if you think I should make it a priority to go.
My Work In Progress
I finally broke through my writer’s block! I’ve been struggling so hard to make any progress on Ansel and Gretchen’s story. So many times, I sat down determined to get a good amount of words onto the page even if they weren’t any good. Then, inevitably, I’d write about…20 words. So frustrating. So, I figured maybe I was just burned out, and I’d give myself a pass and step back from it for a few weeks.
Well, last weekend, I went to a writing retreat that my sister organized, and I figured it was the perfect time to jumpstart this story. If I was going to spend the gas money to haul myself down to Utah, then I was determined to make it count.
Well, not only did I meet a bunch of amazing writers, but I also managed to get down 10,000 words in a day and a half. My record for a retreat is 25,000 in 2 1/2 days, so I didn’t beat that, but it’s a very respectable amount, and it totally got me unstuck! Let us rejoice!
