You Can Preorder Paths Unknown!

Yes! Paths Unknown is up for preorder. It releases June 17th, and that means I can share the link and the official blurb with you!

Ansel and Gretchen are best friends—not siblings—and it’s important to Ansel that no one suggest otherwise.

Ansel knows two things for certain: how to wield a sword, and that he’s in love with Gretchen. Trained in combat from a young age, his dedication and skill are matched only by his commitment to keep her safe from any harm, even if it means risking his own heart.

Gretchen has grown up training alongside Ansel, forging a bond through shared struggles and victories since childhood. But when her estranged father suddenly reappears, her world is thrown into turmoil. Is this her chance to rebuild a broken bond, or is he only here to break her trust—again?

As their friendship is challenged and their feelings start to shift, Gretchen’s father pulls them into a world of danger and betrayal. Will an old woman in the woods be their means of salvation? And what of their friendship? Will they risk it to discover if their bond could be so much more?

Paths Unknown is a no-spice romance. Inspired by Hansel and Gretel, this love story follows two best friends down the path of discovery as they must protect one another while navigating complex familial problems and the question of whether friendship can blossom into a spectacular love.

Y’all, I got my developmental edit back two days ago and I am feeling so good about this story. All the moments that I hoped would be impactful did their job. At one point, my editor texted me, saying, and I quote, “The Kiss. The. Freaking. Kiss. I am dying.” I did a major happy dance when I got that text. Huzzah! And now I get to go in and add all the fabulous suggestions she made so it will be fuller and even more impactful, with all the feels.

A Dalthia Prequel

In other news! I decided that I need a reader magnet (a short story I give away for free so people will get hooked on my stuff and buy my other books) that leads into my Dalthia series. I was feeling some major creative energy last week, so I sat down, plotted it, and wrote half of it. EEE! I decided to use one of Ella’s older sisters and tell her love story. If you’ve read Just Ella, you know that I couldn’t use Kalina for a prequel because it would be a major spoiler. So I’m telling the story of Princess Mia! She’s the oldest of the Milandaro sisters (that’s their last name, did you know?), and her love story is a small plot point in Just Ella, but telling her story will not create any kind of spoilers.

I’m SO excited about this little story. I will be giving it away to those who sign up for my newsletter. For those already receiving my newsletter, you will be the FIRST to get this little beauty for free as a giant THANK YOU for being part of my tribe.

I haven’t decided on an official title for this short story, but I’m thinking something like:
The Dalthian Princess
The King’s Eldest
The Daughter of the King

Something like that. If you have any suggestions, I would LOVE to hear them!

I’ve even made a mockup of the cover, but since I’m not a cover designer, it’s probably not good enough, and I’ll need to look into an option for getting a cover created that won’t break my bank, since I won’t be making any money off of this. I already know which photograph I want to use, but if you’ve ever been involved in cover design, you know that’s only the very first step.

If y’all could send me good vibes so that I can keep up my creative energy, I’m really hoping to nail down this little story AND get my Paths Unknown edits taken care of soon. Wish me luck!
